Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Leo Joplin, 58, of Mapleton, IL, died at 1:55 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his home.
Born on May 20, 1953 in Pekin, IL to Leo and Olean Rains Joplin, he married Marla Jean Barrett in June of 1971. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1984. He later married Jeannie Marie Liter on July 30, 1988 in Mapleton, IL and she survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Leo and Olean Joplin of Peoria, IL, 2 sons, Joshua (Cami) Joplin of Glasford, IL, and Jeremy (Caroline) Joplin of Mapleton, IL, 5 grandchildren, Lexi and Drake Joplin and Kathleen, Amanda and Cole Joplin, 1 brother, Scott Joplin and 1 sister, Vickie (Ron) Kirchgessner, both of Peoria, IL.
Chuck worked in the steel mill at Keystone Steel and Wire for 32 years, retiring on July 21, 2003. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Illinois Valley Bass Anglers, National Rifle Association, and the Fowl Mouth Duck Club.
Services for Chuck will be at 10 am Monday, March 26, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Fred Doughty will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Oak Hill, IL.
