Obituary Charles E. Brown, 90, of East Peoria, passed away at 3:10pm Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 20, 1927 in Chickasaw, MS to Felix S. and Vernon (Enochs) Brown. He married Evylon V. Shamblin on October 28, 1950 in Piggott, AR; she preceded him in death on June 3, 2016. Surviving are three children, Charletta (Roger) Aylward of East Peoria, Maureen (Randy) Uphoff of Morton, and Brent Brown of East Peoria; grandchildren, Robert (LeAnn) Aylward, Tuesdee (Benjamin) Clausen, Brentny Brown, Rindy and Rhodes Uphoff; two step-grandchildren, Howard Shaffer and Elizabeth Harmon; two great-grandchildren, Louisa and Fiona Aylward; and a sister, Agnes Hesselbein of Malden, MO. Charlie started out farming at the family farm and then worked in carpentry. He later moved to East Peoria and began his career at Caterpillar Tractor Co., retiring in 1989. He was a friend to everyone who knew him and he loved to garden, fish, and hunt. He was a longtime, faithful member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God where his funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Rev. Fred Doughty will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is serving the family.
