Obituary CREVE COEUR- Cathy S. Shelby, 64, of Creve Coeur passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 5:19PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Cathy was born March 14, 1950 to Gene Childers and Evelyn Wehmeier. She married James B. Shelby, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her friend and soulmate, Jimmy Carrington of Creve Coeur; her children, Tim (Jackie) Shelby of Yates City, Laura Ballew of North Pekin, and Scott (Samantha) Ballew of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Steven Acevedo, Dustin Acevedo, Benjamin Shelby, Katelyn Ballew, A.J. Acevedo, and Rhiannon Shelby; three brothers and five sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Cathy worked at Garden Street Coffee Shop in Peoria for 20 years. She was most recently a homemaker. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at 6pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Stephen Respress will officiate.
