Obituary

Obituary Carol A. Wilson, 76, of Germantown Hills, passed away peacefully at 8:05pm, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her faith and her family. Carol was born March 24, 1938, in Peoria, to the late Adam H. and Ruth L. Slater Weinstein. She married Keith J. Wilson June 28, 1958 in Morton; he survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Linda (Lawrence) Shuda, Cathy (Paul) Scheirer, both of Germantown Hills, Cindy (Bruce) Byrum of Washington, Lisa Bohanan of East Peoria; one son, Shawn Wilson of Holden, MO; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, one sister, and her kitty, Duchess. Her parents, one sister, one grandson, Scott Hawn, preceded her in death. Carol was one of a kind and was passionate about everything she enjoyed, including her admiration of Neil Diamond, her Precious Moments collection, and even wrapping gifts. Traveling, reading, and crafting also gave her pleasure. Carol retired from, what began as a seasonal job, at JC Penney after more than 21 years. She was member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria and the Hands of Christ Ministry. Above all else, she loved and was devoted to her family. A funeral Mass for Carol will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-8:00pm, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Additional visitation will be one half prior to Mass Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Father Julius Turyatoranwa will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memphis.
