Obituary Peoria Heights- Carol Joann Mason, 75 of Peoria Heights, passed away at 4:40 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home following a short courageous battle with cancer in the arms of her son Mike. She was born on December 21, 1937 in Decatur, IL to William Arthur and Dorothy Mae Goodpasture Nash. She married Paul Mason on August 31, 1957 in Decatur, IL. He predeceased her on April 4, 2012. Surviving are 3 sons, Steven Mason of Metamora, Michael (Mary) Mason of Peoria Heights and Kevin (Georgia) Mason of Bartonville, 10 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Alan (Carolyn) Nash of Decatur, IL, Jim (Janet) Nash of Decatur, IL and a sister, Janet (Richard) Bonds of Pace, FL. Carol was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 10 sisters. Carol was a shipping and receiving clerk for Cope Plastics in Peoria for 25 years. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, doing arts and crafts and painting. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave in Decatur. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service.
