Carol J. Alexander, 90, of Washington, passed away at 4:55 am on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at The Loft in Eureka.

Carol was born on July 30, 1933 in Bethany, IL to the late Blanche (Roney) and Floyd Griffith. She married Charles M. Alexander on January 12, 1957 in Eureka, IL. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She was also preceded in death by a brother Roger Griffith, and her infant daughter.

Surviving are her 4 children; Jan (Scott) Jahnel of Washington,IL, Jill (Ray) Mohr of Danvers, IL, Jon Alexander of Washington, IL, and Jay (Shannon) Alexander of Eureka, MO; her 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

In her early years Carol loved to play golf, bingo, and paint. She attended Eureka United Methodist Church and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the United Stroke Alliance.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, April 5, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
