Obituary Carl E. Miller 83, of East Peoria, passed away at 4:40am Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington. Carl was born December 16, 1933 in Summersville, MO to Frank and June Wiedner Miller. He married Debra (Pollitt) Boon on December 5, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. Surviving is his wife, Debbie; brother, Kenneth R. Miller; many nieces and nephews; including special nephew, Vince Miller and honorary grandson Randy Buhs Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Curtis E. Miller. Carl was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956. He later became a life member of the Creve Coeur VFW Post 4835, and was a proud union ironworker for over 60 years with close friends Harry Cherry and Tom Adkins all member of Ironworkers' Local 112 in East Peoria. He enjoyed raising race horses, riding motorcycles, and following motorcycle races across the country. Carl loved life and was always a happy, energetic guy. A visitation to celebrate Carl's life will be from 5-7:00pm Monday, May 22, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Military honors will be rendered at 7:30pm Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and inurnment will be at Summersville Cemetery in Summersville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, to Disabled American Veterans, and/or ABATE of ILLINOIS.
