Obituary
EAST PEORIA- Byron K. Baker, 67, of East Peoria passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 12:45A.M. at his residence.
Byron was born on November 20, 1948 in Peoria to Cecil L. and Selenia Guerra Baker.
He married Carol S. Baker on July 24, 1981 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2008 in East Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael R. Baker.
Surviving is his son, Kenneth (Sheri) Baker; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gail (Baker) Walker; one sister, Susette (Jerry) Siesbenborn; one niece; and four nephews.
Byron proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He worked as an electrician for Komatsu for several years. He then went to work at Caterpillar in East Peoria as a machinist; retiring in December 2015.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 1115, A.B.A.T.E, and the Leatherneck Motorcycle Club.
He was an avid biker and loved his time on his custom Harley Davidson trike. "B.B." as friends would call him, had a giving spirit and never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions make be made to Kenneth Baker c/o Eureka Community Bank to help cover expenses.
A memorial visitation for Byron will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 1:00P.M.-3:00P.M. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Inurnment will be at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka at a later time.
