Brian D. Crummett, 52, of Pella, IA, formerly of Washington, IL passed away peacefully on Monday September 4, 2023 at the University of Iowa Medical Center surrounded by family.

Brian was born February 23, 1971 in Peoria, IL to Harley and Janice Crummett. He was united in marriage to Cassie on March 15, 2006 in Champaign, IL.

Brian grew up in Washington and was a Washington Community High School graduate. As a kid he took pride as an avid baseball player. He always had a love for the outdoors, whether that was camping, boating, or fishing at Lake Red Rock. He had a wonderful sense of humor and found joy in making people laugh. Brian was a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing, especially portraits. Family was everything to him. He loved spending time with them and surprising them with road-trips, where he would turn up the music and show off his dance moves. He leaves a legacy of good memories, love, creativity, and fun.

Surviving are his wife Cassie; daughters Brianna of Pella, IA and Alexis of Richardson, TX; his dad Harley; sisters Cheryl Bane and Cathy (Travis) Mansfield all of Washington, IL; nephews and nieces, Brandon (Heather) Reynolds, Derek Reynolds both of Washington, IL, Brittanie (Dan) Russell of Germantown Hills, IL and their families.

He was preceeded in death by his mom, Janice; and his grandparents, Paul and Evelyn Poncy.

His family and friends will gather to celebrate Brian's life at 1:00pm Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.

Contributions may be made to his family in honor of a memorial at his favorite place, Lake Red Rock, near his home in Iowa.
