Obituary WASHINGTON--Brenda J. Hartman, 45, of Washington, died at 10:43 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at her residence. She was born on June 26, 1962 in Peoria, IL to Larry F. and Shirley A. Realford Holmes. She married Dennis J. Hartman on October 11, 1980 in Washington, IL; he survives. Surviving are her parents, Larry and Shirley Holmes of Washington, IL; her maternal grandparents, Sheral and Lavern Chance of Metamora, IL; 2 sons, Jason L. (Stefanie Tigue) Hartman of Rolla, MO, and Chad R. Hartman of Washington, IL; 1 brother, Larry F. (Sheree) Holmes, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC; 1 sister, Sherry (Perry) Darling of Austin, TX; 6 nephews and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents. Brenda was currently working in the office of Dr. Sfeir, an Endocrinologist at OSF. Growing up, she played softball with NTRA, where she later served as a board member. Brenda was an active member of Faith Lutheran Evangelical Church in Washington for more than 35 years. She was involved with the Via de Cristo movement, and was a member of the board for the Faith Lutheran Child Care Center. She bowled in the Sunday night mixed bowling league at Plaza Lanes in Washington, and also enjoyed playing bunco. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 11 at Faith Lutheran Evangelical Church in Washington. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, February 10 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Additional visitation will be from 10-10:30 AM on Monday at the church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund.
