Brenda L. Bowen, 66, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at OSF Medical Center.  Brenda was born on April 13, 1960, in Peoria, the daughter of the late Richard and Donna (Hall) Bowen.  Brenda cherished her family and loved to be around her siblings and adored her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.  Her family will always remember her for her sense of humor and smile.  Brenda enjoyed various crafts, camping, and sitting around a fire.  She was an animal lover that loved her dogs and cats and was known for wearing dog and cat clothing and accessories.  Brenda was of the Christian faith.

Brenda is survived by her sisters and brother: Linda Dickey of Washington, Janet Frakes of Chillicothe, Michael (Tonya) Bowen of Peoria, Deborah Bowen of East Peoria, Terry Bowen of East Peoria, her nieces and nephews: Crystal (Nathan) Dvorak of Auburn, IL, Pam (Kevin Eggleston) Anderson of East Peoria, Amber Dickey of Washington, Jake Fullen,  Mandy (Shawn Rynearson) Fullen, Jessica Schafer all of Chillicothe, Ashley (Tod) Hadsell of Norwood, Josh Bowen of Peoria, Bradley (Amber) Medford of Creve Coeur, and Stephane (Corey Turbett) McKinney of East Peoria, as well as 10 great-nieces, 12 great-nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents Brenda was preceded in death by her brother Dennis Bowen.

To honor Brenda's wishes cremation rites will be accorded by Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.  Brenda will be inurned at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
