Obituary WASHINGTON - Robert A. "Bob" Alexander, Sr., 76, of Washington, IL, died at 12:06 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home. Born on September 28, 1937 in Creve Coeur, IL to John Abraham and Leona Roe Alexander, he married Dianne Davidson on May 21, 1960 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2004. He is survived by his children, Julia Alexander of Washington, IL, Angel Tummins of Branson, MO, and Blake (Jennifer) Alexander of Washington, IL, 9 grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy), Mardel (Duane), Brandon (Emily), Robert A. III, Michael, Robert, Hope, Breanna, and Blake Jr., 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 siblings, Mike, Dorothy and Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert A. Alexander, Jr., and several brothers and sisters. Bob worked at Chris Hoerr and Sons, and then worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed the simple things in life, loved camping all over, traveling with his wife and their family, and watching TV. Services for Bob will be at 11 am Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor James Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
