Obituary EAST PEORIA - Bill Dyer, 73, of East Peoria, IL, died at 4:45 am Monday, August 30, 2010, at Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital in Peoria, IL. Born on August 8, 1937 in Beardstown, IL to William E. and Mabel R. Nelson Dyer, he married Lucille Esch on May 12, 1956 in Washington, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Veronica Farney (David Urbanc) of Peoria, Steven E. Dyer of St. Louis, MO, Craig (Teresa) Dyer of East Peoria; 3 grandchildren, Jason (Emily) Farney of Peoria, Amanda Farney of Dunlap, Shawna Dyer of Peoria; 1 great-grandson, Jamarkus Miller of Peoria, and his beloved dog, Trixie. Bill was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rose Marie Lynn and Mary Ann Buckingham. Bill was a U.S. Air Force veteran. In 1999, Bill retired as the yard manager from River City Construction in East Peoria. He was a member of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria. Bill volunteered his time to civic improvement efforts in East Peoria. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of ABATE. Bill took much pride in working in his yard. He was a member of Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington. A memorial service will be at 4 pm Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Kenneth Sistrunk will officiate. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
