Beverly Ann Clifford, 83, of Washington, IL, went home to be with Jesus on November 6, 2021 at Reflections Memory Care in Morton, IL. Beverly was born on October 11, 1938 at home on the family farm outside West Frankfort, IL. Beverly married the mailman, Jim Clifford, on August 8, 1970 uniting our two families. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Clifford; her daughter, Elizabeth (Patrick) Arity of Washington; her two sons, Jim (Lori) Clifford of Acworth, GA and Jacob (Cyd) Williams of Orlando, FL; her sister, Suellyn (Jim) Holler of Petersburg, IL; her brother, David (Leann) Dorris of Downs, IL. Beverly also leaves eight grandchildren, Rachel Ozog (Karl Tooren) of Streamwood, IL, Sarah Ozog (Justin Au) of Rolling Meadows, IL, Andrew Williams of St. Louis, MO, Charisse Williams of San Diego, CA, Ericka Clifford of Atlanta, GA, Whitney Williams of Orlando, FL, Matthew Clifford of Acworth, GA and Camryn Williams of Orlando, FL; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Tooren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Madelene Dorris; one sister, Dorla Hyatt; and one brother, Timothy Dorris. Beverly grew up in southern Illinois out in the country. She loved helping her dad with the outdoor chores on the farm. Beverly graduated from Benton High School in 1956. Beverly retired from Illinois Bell Telephone/Ameritech/AT&T in Springfield, IL in 1990 after 26 years of service. Beverly started at Illinois Bell as a mail girl in 1964 and retired as a manager of equipment engineers in 1990. After retirement, Beverly and Jim spent their summers in Garden Corners, MI in the Upper Peninsula. Beverly and Jim also enjoyed traveling to different places as well as spending time with their children and grandchildren. Beverly enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, playing with her dogs and going to church. Beverly had to be spoiled with at least one cappuccino a day, which Jim was more than happy to provide. The family would like to thank the staffs at Reflections Memory Care in Morton and Transitions Hospice for their many blessings they provided and the great care they gave Beverly during the last stages of her long battle with Alzheimer's. Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Bethany Community Church in Washington with Pastor Kent Kloter officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at church on Saturday from 9 to 11am. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Reflections Memory Care in Morton, IL or Garden Christian Fellowship Church in Garden, MI where Jim and Beverly attended for over 20 years.
