Obituary

Obituary Betty Lou Schumacher, 86, recently of Washington, spending most of her life in Metamora, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home. She was born April 10, 1928 in Remington, IN to Henry and Sally Knochel Frey. She married Lloyd A. Schumacher in Remington, IN on February 6, 1961. He survives. Also surviving are her four sons, Doug of Los Angeles, CA, Greg (Shelle) of Monticello, Jeff (Tressa) of Washington, Mark (Sean) of Greenville, SC; and 8 grandchildren, Drew, Joshua, Isaac, Abram, Livia, Mallory, Sofia and Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Cora Stoller Frey; twin sister, Letty Mae Hueni; and sister, Wilma Jean Buck. Betty graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Home Economics. She taught at Metamora Township High School before retiring. She was actively involved in Woodford County Home Extension for many years and loved gardening, sewing, playing the piano and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home. Betty was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Washington where her Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, with Church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be at the Washington Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
