Obituary
WASHINGTON--Betty Jean (Rose) Schultz, 71, of Washington, died at 6:15 AM, on Monday, January 7, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
She was born on January 10, 1936 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Charles and Ethel Gilbert Rose. Surviving are 2 sons, Alvin (Toni) Schultz of East Peoria, IL, and Jeff (Sandi) Schultz of Canton, IL; 2 daughters, Janet (Rick) Borton of Xenia, IL and Nancy (Daniel) McMullen of Washington, IL; 2 sisters, Melissa Florence (Luis) Garcia of Mundelein, IL and Bonnie Cunningham of Eddyville, KY; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother Russell. Betty was a Program Assistant and Adult Foster Care Provider for PARC and later a Live-In Counselor and Activity Coordinator for the Children's Home in Peoria, where she retired in May of 1998. She was of the Lutheran faith. Betty dedicated her life to serving others. In continuing with her service, she has donated her body to the Genesis Science & Research facility in Memphis, TN. A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to services from 5-7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Golconda, IL.
