Obituary Betty J. Peterson, 88, of East Peoria, IL died at 8:50 AM Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. Born on October 5, 1923 in College Place, WA to Chester and Ethel McLeod McConville, she married Paul R. Peterson on August 29, 1953 in Seattle, WA. Moving to Illinois after their marriage, she and Paul have lived in East Peoria since 1955. Surviving are her husband, Paul of East Peoria, IL; 2 nephews, CJ (Theresa) Casson and Murray Casson, both of Washington State and 2 great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Pat Casson and brother-in-law, Russell Casson. Betty graduated from Yakima Senior High School and earned a degree in elementary education at Illinois State University in 1969. She had worked for Commercial National Bank in Peoria and part time at Edward Hines Co., also in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
