Betty J. Janes, 80, of Edelstein, formerly of Washington, passed away at 7:48 am Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born February 2, 1942 in Peoria to Walter and Bernadine Garland.  She married Davis L. Janes in 1957.  He preceded her in death December 28, 2021.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Carol.

Surviving are three children, Rick (Jill) Janes, Rhonda Gutierrez, Shannon (Lauri) Janes; four grandchildren, Garrett, TJ, Alec, Dylan; and two great-grandchildren, Layla and Lincoln.

Betty worked at Fleming - Potter in Peoria for over 40 years before retiring.  She enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Cremation has been accorded.  There will be no services.  Inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
