Obituary WASHINGTON- Bettie L. Reeves, 81, of Washington passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at Unity Point Health- Methodist in Peoria. Bettie was born on December 16, 1934 in Hamburg to Albert and Katie Foster Dirksmeyer. She married Gene Reeves on August 21, 1954 in Kampsville. He survives and resides in Washington. Also surviving are their children, Eugenia Reeves of Urbana, Angie (Greg) Warren of Washington, Mark (Sheryl) Reeves of Washington, and Darren Reeves of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Garnell) Dirksmeyer of Hardin, and sister, Jennie Vetter of Jerseyville. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Bettie worked as a devoted and caring homemaker. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no service, per Bettie's wishes. Inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
