Obituary Bertha A. "Bert" Kerr, 79 of Washington, IL, died at 7:25 am Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her home. Born on August 27, 1931 in Fairfield, IA to Frank H. and Caroline Kurtz Kasowski, she married William Robert "Bob" Kerr on December 22, 1952 in Rockford, IL. He survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, William John (Christine) Kerr of Kentwood, MI and David B. (Janice) Kerr of Naperville, IL, and 4 grandchildren, Jim (Stephanie) Kerr, Sarah Kerr, Dan Kerr, and Stephanie Kerr. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, and 1 brother. Bert worked in various administrative functions at the Corporate Headquarters of Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bowling with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, her favorites being Alaska and Hawaii. A memorial service will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Rev. Rebecca Weltmann will officiate. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of the cremated remains will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
