Obituary Bernadine M. Hagemann, 89, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:55pm, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, East Peoria. She was born September 15, 1923 in Metamora, to Lawrence and Otillia Parr Eckstein. She married Donald H. Hagemann June 28, 1952 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death August 31, 2008. Surviving are a sister, Madeline Steigler, East Peoria; sister-in-law Rosemary Eckstein, Peoria; 3 nieces, 6 nephews; and 22 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, brothers, Richard Eckstein and Leroy Eckstein, and a special friend, George Shepherd. Bernie was a longtime member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, East Peoria where she was a member of the Ladies' Guild. She retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after many years of service. She also enjoyed cooking and especially gardening. Funeral mass for Bernie will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Monica's Catholic Church, East Peoria. Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, East Peoria. Interment will follow services at Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria.
