Benjamin Edward
Izaguirre
Jan 23, 1996 — Sep 12, 2026
Benjamin Edward Izaguirre, 30, passed away peacefully at home in Frisco, TX on September 12, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He was born on January 23, 1996, in Peoria, IL.
Ben was a kind and caring person who always put others before himself. He was known for his big heart, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Benjamin grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington Community High School in 2014. He was a standout football player and a member of the 2013 semifinal team recently inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Colorado-Boulder, pledging Kappa Sigma, and graduated from the University of North Texas, where he earned his degree. He went on to work in Human Resources at Northrop Grumman.
Although proud of his Mexican and Irish heritage, Benjamin had a deep affinity for Japanese language and culture. The best times of his life were spent traveling to Japan and eventually falling in love with his beautiful fiancée, Rumi.
Benjamin is survived by his parents, Roberto (Jany) Izaguirre of Randolph, NJ, and Dawn (Steven) Foster of Frisco, TX; his fiancée, Rumi Minato of Tokyo, Japan; siblings, Robert (Katelyn) Izaguirre of Chicago, IL, Nicole Izaguirre of Madrid, Spain, Alex Izaguirre of Randolph, NJ, and Kassidy (Randall) Hartman of Denver, CO; maternal grandparents, Don and Suzanne O'Dea of Washington, IL; his aunts Colleen O'Dea and Kristin (Carl) Ray of Washington, IL, and Martha Izaguirre of Aguascalientes, Mexico; his uncle Carlos Izaguirre of Aguascalientes, Mexico, and several cousins. His paternal grandparents, Carlos and Martha Izaguirre, preceded him in death.
His family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00-5:00pm Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. The family would like the visitation to be an casual reception to honor Benjamin, so please arrive at any time during these hours rather than arriving right at 2:00pm.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm Monday, September 21 2026 at Sacred Heart Church in Peoria. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
Ben faced his cancer diagnosis with determination and a willingness to help others. Throughout his treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, he worked closely with his medical team and was willing to explore treatments that might benefit not only him, but others facing the same disease. That was our Bennie…
