Obituary PEORIA-Barbara E. Carr, 73, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Edwards, MO, died at 7:37 PM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Born on January 22, 1941 in Louisville, KY to Estel H. and Elsie M. Barkus Ray, she married Harold Carr in 1985 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death in 2000 in Warsaw, MO. Surviving are 7 children, David (Kay) Wright of Sturtevant, WI, Paul Wright of Des Moines, IA, Michael (Cheryl) Wright of Morris, IL, Robin Richard of Farmington, IL, Eric Wright of St. Louis, MO, Bret (Nichole) Wright of Peoria, IL, and Patrick (Von) Wright of Canton, IL; 2 sisters, Judy (John) Sheaffer of Peoria, IL and Jean (Ron) Knight of Norwood, IL; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; 1 son, Dale Wright; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Barbara enjoyed knitting, feeding the humming birds, singing to old time country western music, and listening to gospel blue grass music. She also liked watching TV game shows. She took great pride in staying home to raise each of her seven children. Barbara was always a tomboy at heart. Funeral Services will be at 6 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria, IL. Pastor John Sheaffer will officiate.
