Arthur Joe
Tuley
Dec 19, 1942 — Apr 12, 2026
Arthur J. "Art" Tuley, 83, of Peoria passed away at his home on Sunday evening, April 12, 2026, with his loving wife at his side. Art was born on December 19, 1942, in Allen Township, IL, to the late Mary Olive and Andrew T. Tuley. Art lived a full and adventurous life with his wife Faye Tuley for over 33 years; they were married on December 11, 1992.
Art proudly and bravely served our country in the Army during the Korean Conflict; having enlisted early at the young age of 16. After his time of service to our country, Art worked for many years as a machinist at Komatsu until he retired. Art also had a love for dogs, especially German Shepherds, and he enjoyed breeding them for a time. When Art and Faye retired, they enjoyed 30 years of traveling all across the United States while living in their motor home. In the earlier years they enjoyed 4-wheeling and snowmobiling at Cloud 9 Campground and Resort in Missouri. They made many friends across the country while being a part of the Caterpillar RV Travel Club, Safari Motorhome Group, and the Thousand Trails Association. Their adventures included exploring the wilderness of Alaska, through the deserts of Arizona, and their many years "snowbirding" in the heart of Texas. Lake Whitney RV Campground in Texas will always hold cherished memories of winter seasons there with lifelong friends. They reluctantly had to stop traveling in November 2025 due to Art's health concerns and they made their new home in Liberty Village Estates.
Art and Faye served faithfully for over 10 years as the hosts at Jubilee College State Park Equestrian Campground during the Illinois summer seasons. They loved the peacefulness and beauty of the campground and the people they met there over the years. Many riders and campers became lifelong friends, and they enjoyed seeing them and their beautiful horses each summer.
One of Art's greatest joys in life was when in his later years he gave his heart to Jesus and became a child of God. He often mentioned the times he knows his life was spared while in the Army and he thanked God for protecting him and watching over him. He was baptized at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas by Pastor Matt Hagee.
Art is survived by his loving wife Faye Tuley, his children: Kimberly (Jim) Tuley-Boyer, Pamela (Bobby) Tuley- Schmittou, Angela Tuley, and Jennifer Tuley, and their mother Jacquelyn (Douglas) Linsley, his step-children: Teresa (Scott) Schilling, Randal Maske, and Anne Maske, and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members, and numerous friends. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered as a good man, a faithful husband and a friend to all. We are comforted by knowing that although we grieve today, we will once again be reunited in Heaven.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, his son Greg Tuley (surviving spouse, Dawn), and his two sisters Janet Tuley and Joyce Richwine.
To honor Art's wishes, Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington will hold a graveside service on Tuesday, April 21, at 2 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Morton. Darrell Neal will be the Officiant and Military Honors will be performed by TACTS.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a Veteran's Charity of the donor's choice.
