Obituary Arthur M. Todd, 83, of Washington, IL, died at 7:24 am Saturday, May 19, 2012 at his home in Washington. Born on October 26, 1928 in Enfield, IL to Clarence and Ellen Logan Todd, he married Mary Irene Lemkemann on December 22, 1956 in Peoria Heights, IL. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2005 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are 3 sons Thomas (Marsha) Todd of Fairfax, VA, Timothy Todd of Darien, IL, and Anthony (Rebecca) Todd of Washington, IL, 2 brothers, Charles Todd of Morton, IL and Estle (Bertha) Todd of Prescott Valley, AZ, 1 sister, Agnes Sinks of Peoria, IL, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death were 4 brothers, and 1 sister. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War with the Army Corp of Engineers. Art worked as an appliance repairman at Altorfer Brothers (ABC), Cohen's Furniture, and Montgomery Ward, where he retired in 1990. He was a member of the Hopedale Rebekah Lodge #74 and the Columbia Odd Fellows Lodge #21 in Peoria, where he held various leadership positions. He was also a past member of the Peoria American Legion. Art also participated in various bowling leagues in the area and was a avid fisherman. Services will be at 11 am Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Evan Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the funeral home, with additional visitation from 10-11 Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton, where military rites will be accorded by the US Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
