Obituary Arthur "Butch" McFarlane, 75, of Washington, passed away at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Washington Christian Village. He was born October 13, 1939 in Peoria, IL to James and Mona Moore McFarlane. He married Mary Brown in Peoria, IL on July 22, 1961. She survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Jean (Jerry) Vires and Tom McFarlane, both of Washington; 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Tim, Emily, Luke and Allison; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Pat Harris, Margaret (Al) Haisch, and Elaine "Spanky" Galvin; and 2 brothers, Joe McFarlane and Mike (Sheila) McFarlane. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Jim and John; sister, Catherine; 1 grandson; and his brother-in-law, Warren Harris. Butch was a United States Army veteran. He worked as a cement finisher with Local #12 in Peoria before retiring. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass at the church. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
