Obituary Arthur Iverson, 87, of Washington, passed away at 5:53pm Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Villas of Hollybrook in Washington. Arthur was born November 20, 1928 in Lake Nebagamon, WI to Sigvart and Nina Hultquist Iverson. He married Charlene L. Smith on June 3, 1950 in Meredosia, IL; she survives. Also surviving are his children, Theresa (Bill) Nelson of Geneseo, Randy (Nancy) Iverson and Brian (Jody) Iverson, both of Washington; eight grandchildren, Joe and Scott Nelson, both of Chicago; Dawn McKinney of Washington and Tim Iverson of Morton; and Brody, Alyx, Austen, and Marissa Iverson, all of Washington; and four great-grandchildren. Arthur met his future wife, Charlene, after moving to Meredosia to live with relatives. He served his country in the US Army as a Corporal Medic during the Korean War, and went on to work for 37 years at Caterpillar Tractor Co., retiring in 1986. Arthur was a member at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, was an avid gardener, and was a very hard worker. He loved to camp and spend time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Arthur will be held at 10:30am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Washington; military honors will conclude the service. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at Glendale Cemetery, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Washington.
