Obituary EAST PEORIA-Arlis I. Frohriep, 91, of East Peoria, IL, formerly of Sturgis, MI, died at 1:20 pm Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria, IL. Born on February 3, 1919 in Battle Creek, MI to George and Mae Hibbard Hart, she married Arnold Frohriep on July 12, 1941 in Bryan, OH. He preceded her in death. Surviving are 1 daughter, Joan (Rev. David) Likeness of Dunlap, IL; 1 son Terry (Jean) Frohriep of Swanton, OH; 1 sister Margaret (Loren) Moody of Ormond Beach, FL; 3 granddaughters, Deia Frohriep and Tina (Brian) Pinkerton, both of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kristy (Rev. William) Nienstedt of Arlington, VA; 2 great-grandsons, Dain and Chase Pinkerton of Ft. Wayne, IN, and 1 great-granddaughter, Katy Nienstedt of Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ardyce Beckwith and Ruth Peterson. Arlis was a graduate of Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, MI. She worked in the dietary department at Sturgis Memorial Hospital and later became coordinator of the school lunch program for the grade schools in Sturgis, MI. She last worked as a front desk clerk at Holiday Inn in Battle Creek. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, MI where a memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, April 29, 2011. Rev. Calvin Kolzow will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sturgis, MI. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
