Anton "Tony" Martin, 89, of East Peoria, passed away at 12:03am Monday, August 30, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Tony was born February 15, 1932 in LaSalle to the late Anton and Frances Testa Martin. He married Elgene "Gene" Lund on September 8, 1956 in Granville; she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Andra (Michael) Stephens of Washington; granddaughters, Chesley and Mollie; and great-grandchildren, Bennett and Emersyn; and his sister, Carol Brady. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Rose Bruce, Ted Martin, and Charles Martin. Tony served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 and worked at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs during this time. He went on to earn his degree from Bradley and worked as a graphic designer at several local companies, including Hall, Haerr, Peterson & Harney, MultiAd and Material Handling Network. He enjoyed camping with his wife and their Hi-Lo Club. He was a talented artist, whether it was painting, sculpting, or pottery making, and loved baking desserts. He enjoyed taking his granddaughter riding at CIRT and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
