Obituary Anthony L. "Tony" Kiesewetter, 78, of Metamora, passed away at 12:53pm Friday, November 13, 2015 at Graham Hospital in Canton. Tony was born May 17, 1937 in Metamora, to Peter and Syrilla Fandel Kiesewetter. He married Mary Ann Schumacher on February 27, 1960 in Metamora; she preceded him in death in 2008. Surviving are their children, Sandy Adkins of Maryland, Mark (Tina) Kiesewetter of Greer, SC, and Thomas Kiesewetter of Rochelle; 6 grandchildren, Robert Adkins, Edward Kiesewetter, Sarah Kiesewetter, Estella Borquez, Mario Diaz, and Cesario Diaz; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosie Neff of Cazenovia. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, and 7 brothers. Tony grew up in Metamora and played for the high school basketball team. In his younger days, he worked for Hiram Walker in Peoria and was a dairy farmer. After he retired from farming, he work for Caterpillar, until retiring in 1989. In retirement, we enjoyed working part time at CarQuest in Metamora. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and John Deere tractors, as well as professional wrestling. Going to auctions, flea markets, and Goodwill stores also brought him joy. A funeral service for Tony will be held at noon Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at American Mausoleum in Peoria. Father Greg Jozefiak will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
