Anthony "Tony" Cvelbar, 75, of Washington passed away at 6:43 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on April 20, 1943 to Anton and Celia Mazurkiewicz Cvelbar in LaSalle, IL, he married Judith Bruno on January 22, 1966 in DePue, IL; she survives. Also surviving are two children, Jason (Amber) Cvelbar of Lakemoor and Brian Cvelbar of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Jacob, Lauren, and Corinne; sister, Janice Skaggs of Kissimmee, FL; niece, Janelle (Ron) Priester of St. Cloud, FL; and great-nephews, Cameron and Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Marge Cvelbar. Tony graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He went on to teach accounting at NIU before working as CPA at Price Waterhouse. He began his career at First National Bank of Peoria in 1972, retiring in 1992. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with a private funeral service.
