Obituary WASHINGTON--Anna Mae Brubaker, 75, of Washington, died at 11:30 AM on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. She was born on October 16, 1933 in Chatsworth, Illinois to Henry and Hazel Smith Berlett. She married Don Brubaker on May 29, 1954 in Washington, Illinois; he survives. Also surviving 2 daughters, Marie Sittig of Washington IL and Penny (Roger) Brookbank of Lynn Creek, MO; 1 son Tony (Shari) Brubaker of New Braunfels, TX; 4 sisters, Phyllis Schmidt of Washington IL, Neva Myer of Wisconsin, Dorothy Cline of Pekin IL, and Norma Livengood of Washington IL; 2 brothers, Tom (Janice) Berlett of Washington IL and Jerry Berlett of Texas; 8 grandsons and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Anna had worked for the Greater Peoria Credit Bureau, Hornsby's Stores and Foster's Jewelry. She was a CNA in home health care for 12 years. She also had volunteered with Senior Focus. Anna was a member of Crossroads United Methodist church, and the Illinois Emmaus Community, and was a former member and Sunday school teacher for the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington. Anna crocheted many quilts for both family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. Rev. Tom Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633, to the Illinois Heartland Emmaus Community, or to her church.
