Obituary
Washington- Alvin T. Son, 83 of Washington passed away at 9:15 AM on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his home. Alvin was born in Peoria, IL on September 25, 1928 to the late Henry and Jerdena Page Son. He married Darlene Brown on November 7, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2001.
Surviving are three sons, Larry of East Peoria, Terry of Marquette Heights and Thomas of Lacon; three daughters, Kathleen (Dennis) Murdy of East Peoria, Linda Lightner of Washington and Susan (Charles) Huff of Lilly; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother Jerry (Pat) Son of East Peoria.
Alvin worked for Frito Lay for 20 years in Route Sales retiring in 1993.
Alvin served in United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 and was honorably discharged from Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington where a visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Monsignor John Prendergast will officiate. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Military Honors will be rendered by Tazewell Military Rites Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Methodist Hospice.
