Alice Marie Wenzel, 100, of Washington, passed away at 9:04am Monday, April 18, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 19, 1921 in Belle Prairie to the late Joseph and Lidwina K. Karcher Pfister. She married Adolph Wenzel on September 30, 1939 in Peoria; he preceded her in death on July 1, 1975.
Surviving are her children, Judith Milligan of East Peoria, Kenneth (Barb) Wenzel of Manteno, and Pam Wenzel of Washington; grandchildren, Katrina (Bill) Henry of Manito, Tamera (Walt) Smith of East Peoria, Bradley Bornmann and Thomas (Karla) Bornmann, all of Indianapolis, Scott (Stacey) Wenzel of Peotone, and Douglas (Carla) Wenzel of Manteno; great-grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Couchman, Kristin Henry (Steve Schneider), Alexandra Smith (Tori Johnson); Brandon, Ryan, and Jacob Wenzel; Kyle, Kaycie, and Karli Wenzel; and Brandi and Brooke Bornmann; and great-great-grandchildren, Lucas Couchman and Josiah and Shamyah Bornmann.
She was also preceded in death by eight siblings; two daughters, Patricia Bornmann and Karen Wenzel; and a son in law, Bob Milligan.
Over the years Alice worked at Libby's Canning in Eureka, Mac's Restaurant and Summers Dairy in Washington, and in food service at ICC. She was previously active at St. Patrick's in the church and school. Alice was a devoted St. Louis Cardinal's fan since the age of 5 and she almost never missed a game. She loved Mickey Mouse and spending time with her family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Parish or OSF Hospice.
