Alexander "Sandy" Roberts, 82, of Creve Coeur, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on August 6, 1942 in Peoria, IL to the late Ernest and Katherine (Lamby) Appleyard. He married Shirley Maddan in North Pekin, IL in 1961. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, LaDonna (Donny Snyder) Beaver, Theresa Vance and Alex (Heather) Roberts; his sister, Francis (Bill) Sparks; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his 8 brothers, and his 2 sisters.

Sandy loved to hunt in his spare time and was known to be a great outdoorsman. He was fond of being outdoors and in nature. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time as well. He will be dearly missed by those that loved him.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Church in East Peoria, IL.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a visitation Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 6-8:00 pm at The Rock Church at 1081 Upper Spring Bay Rd, East Peoria, IL.
