Albert Wood, 84, of Washington, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at Washington Senior Living.

He was born June 15, 1941 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Mervin and Ethel (Hyde) Wood.  He married Patricia Fox in Peoria, Illinois on April 1, 1961.  She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Mike (Jessica) Wood, Daniel (Tanya) Wood, Becky Barton; ten grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, Adam, Caleb, Braden, Jacob, Anthony, Abbi, Mackenzie, Ethan; and several nephews.  He was preceded in death by three siblings, James, Sharon, and Barb.

Albert worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over 30 years before retiring.  He volunteered with the Washington Rescue Squad from 1970 thru 1979.  He was member and was very active in the Peoria Chapter Izaak Walton League, and Washington Kiwanis Club.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded.  There will be no services at this time.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington Rescue Squad.
