Albert E. Minner, 93, of Metamora, passed away at 10:30 pm Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 8, 1927 to the late Fred and Edith Sparrow Minner. He married Joan A. VanDeVeer in Peoria on February 11, 1951. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Stephen (Judy) Minner of East Peoria, David (Trina) Minner of Moorseville, IN; five grandchildren, Daniel (Jacki) Minner of Moorseville, IN, Michael (Jamie) Minner of Clayton, IN, Robert (Tina) Minner of Peoria Heights, Megan (Spencer) Curtale of Brimfield, William (Kasey) Minner of Morton; eleven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Fred (Wilma) Minner of FL. Albert was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1945 - 1946. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a long time member of Arcadia Ave. Presbyterian Church in Peoria until it was dissolved, serving as an elder, youth leader, and Sunday school teacher. He later became a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 1pm. Cremation has been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Albert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was loved by all. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
