Heaven had some technical problems so they called Alan Stockner, the man who could fix anything.  The amazing, one-of-a-kind Al, 77, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026 at Snyder Village in Metamora, where he had received the most wonderful care from so many loving people over the last year.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 56 years Debra Stockner, brother Randy (Judy), children Chris (Elizabeth), Becky, and Laura (Sarah).  He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Zoey Zinger, Mika Stockner, Piper Stockner, Kaylee Jimenez Hemker, CJ Hemker, Zach Hemker, Jace Hemker, Quade Barta, Avery Barta, Kaevin Barta, and Irelin Barta, and 2 great grandchildren, Sienna and Kinsley. He also was loved and will be dearly missed by great friends Rich and Cathy Ingram, Gary and Jeannie Setterlund, his brother-in-law Mark Franks and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Norma Stockner, and sister Nancy Jackson.

He was our hero, the best dad and grandpa, a fine fishermen, pool and poker player, and a master engineer who attained the recognition of Engineering Fellow during his long career at Caterpillar.

To honor Al's wishes cremation rites will be accorded by Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will host a private celebration of life at a later date.
