Obituary East Peoria-Alan Wayne Hasty, 64, of East Peoria died at 10:00 AM Friday July 29, 2011 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1946 in Peoria, IL to Kenneth Lyle and D. Louise Allen Hasty. He married Laura Tanner. He later married Laurie Genusa on May 25, 2007 in Groveland, IL. She survives. Also surviving are one son Mark (Kelly) Hasty of Bloomington, one daughter Melinda (Jeff) Chapman of Bloomington,two stepsons, Joe Genusa of Mackinaw, and Jason (Heather) Genusa of Tampa, FL, one sister Patsy (Larry) Van Dyke of Tremont, one brother Bob (Rita Pulling) Hasty of Danvers, his mother Louise Abbott of Mackinaw and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Alan served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a photographer for Illinois Farm Bureau in Bloomington for 33 years. Alan was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Mackinaw. He was a member of the Dee-Mack Basketball team from 6th grade thru high school. He was also active in track, basketball and football. He was an avid golfer and pool player. A memorial service for Alan will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 6th at Newcastle Bible Church in Mackinaw. Pastor Phil Sommers will officiate. The family will receive the public from 9 to 11 AM. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
