Alan R. Brown, 70, of Washington, passed away Friday April 5, 2024 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born April 10, 1953 in Plainview, TX to Benton and Pearl (Suedekum) Brown.  He married Randy S. Ploense in Mossville on June 30, 1972.  She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary (Brad) Gordon, Sam (Jeremy) Robbins; three grandchildren, Josh Robbins, Carey (Troy Samp) Robbins, Brooke Gordon; two sisters, Edna Wood, Pat McCaleb; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Tommy.

Alan, known as "Old Man", worked at Crown Lift Trucks in Bloomington, retiring in 2017.  He enjoyed traveling with Randy, riding bicycles, NASCAR, and spending time with friends and family.  He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday, April 11th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  A private service will be held.
