Obituary EAST PEORIA- Aino I. Wiitanen, 99, of East Peoria passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. Aino was born on May 26, 1915 in South Range, Michigan to Otto and Kristiina Wayrynen Polso. She married Toivo B. Wiitanen on July 25, 1942 in South Range. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1998 in Hancock, Michigan. Also surviving are her daughters, Doris Ruttle of Washington and Diane (Paul) Reali of Pekin; 2 grandaughters, Julie Brunk and Laura (Dave) Fager, all of Washington; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son-in-law, Dennis Ruttle, and 6 brothers and sisters. Aino graduated from Painesdale High in Michigan. She worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock, MI. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
