Obituary Agnes Whalen O'Neill Washington - Agnes P. O'Neill, 55 of Washington, died at 9:39 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Agnes was born May 23, 1956, in Bloomington, IL to Edward John and Patricia Ann (Dooley) Whalen. She married Mark J. O'Neill on October 2, 1982, in Bloomington, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Pat Whalen and one brother-in-law, Mark Robb. Surviving is her husband Mark, two sons, John O'Neill of Washington and Daniel O'Neill of St. Louis, MO., one grandson Drake and his mother Chelsea Crum; one brother, Mike (Mary) Whalen, of Broomfield, CO; five sisters, Anne (Steve) Petersen of Bloomington, IL, Kitchie (Dan) Bybee of Newark, OH, Susie Robb of Bloomington, IL, Marjorie (Linas) Maskaliunas of Geneva, IL and Peggy (Mike) Prokop of Frankfort, IL; 12 nephews, 11 nieces, 20 great nephews, and 9 great nieces. Agnes graduated from Bloomington Central Catholic High School in 1974 and Illinois State University in 1979. She worked for St. Paul Insurance and then became the first female Fire Inspector for the City of Bloomington in 1984. In 1987 she began working for State Farm Insurance at Corporate Headquarters, Bloomington, IL. Agnes was a very loving wife and mother and enjoyed making family videos for special occasions for her sons, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. She also was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Washington Panther football fan and was very proud of her Irish heritage. Funeral Mass will be at 10am Tuesday at St. Patrick Church in Washington with Msgr. John J. Prendergast officiating. Visitation for Agnes will be on Monday October 17th from 4pm-7pm with a Rosary and time of reflection at 7pm at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. There will be an additional visitation half an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
