Michele G. Hattan,70, of Lacon, passed away at 3:45p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
She was born Jan. 2, 1947 in Phoenixville, PA to Ernest and Esther Ullman Rainier. She married Gene Hattan on June 4, 1973. He survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters, Kimberly Sharick of Metamora, Denell Moats of New Mexico; 2 grandchildren, Jordan and Nathan Moats; sister, Denise Sullivan of Florida; niece and nephew, Shea and Ryan Sullivan; stepbrothers, Hal, Tom, and Bill White; and stepdaughters, Sue Rowe, Roann Kostellic, Vickie Lacy, and Bonnie Marusich. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Louise Rainier; and son-in-law, James Moats Jr.
Michele enjoyed growing up in the Panama Canal Zone where she graduated from Cristobal High School and then attended Canal Zone College. She was an active member of the Central IL Girls Barrel Racing Association and had a great passion for horses. The biggest loves in her life were her family and her animals. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening and was an exceptional cook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The A.R.K. Animal Shelter in Lacon.
Cremation rites have been accorded, there will be no services. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
