Martin Lewis Junk

November 28, 1934 ~ April 21, 2017 (age 82)
WASHINGTON - Martin L. Junk, 82, of Washington, IL, died at 8:37 am Friday, April 21, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Born on November 28, 1934 in Adrian, IL to Gaylord and Lillie Dunsworth Junk, he married Mary Jane Kiesewetter on February 2, 1956 at St. Mary of Lourdes in Metamora, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are 3 children, Joyce (Danny) Ramsey and Gary (Debbie) Junk, both of Washington, IL and Thomas (Angie) Junk of Scott City, MO, and daughter-in-law, Tina Junk of Peoria, IL, 1 sister, Mary Margaret Bader of North Pekin, IL, 4 grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Lawson, Justin (Megan) Junk, Josh (Brandi) Ramsey, Melissa Junk, 1 step-granddaughter, Ashley (Andrew) Estes and 2 step great -grandchildren, Layla and Ava Estes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Junk and his brother, Mitchell Junk.
Martin worked in Photocopy at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1993. He later worked at Hillcrest Golf Course in Washington, where he mowed fairways.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, enjoyed playing golfing, dartball and softball for many years. He also enjoyed wood carving, making various species of birds over the years.
A memorial mass for Martin will be at 11 am Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Patrick Church in Washington. Fr. Steve Willard will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be made for masses or to St. Patrick School.
