Jonathan D. Gaspar, 46, of Urbana, formerly of Marquette Heights, died at 6:00 am Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence.

Jonathan was born on May 5, 1970 in St. Louis, MO to John M. and Lynne S. Ware Gaspar. He was married to Melanie Haerle from November 1997 until October 2008.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, John and Christine Gaspar of Marquette Heights; his mother, Lynne (Sebree) Parlier of Connecticut; 3 daughters, Jade Gaspar, Alisa Gaspar, and Maya Gaspar, all of Bloomington; and 1 brother, Christopher (Cinnamon) Gaspar of California. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jon attended Pekin High School. He served in the U.S. Navy where he directed the Navy Band at Great Lakes Naval Base. Jon played the oboe for the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and was also a stage hand for various musical productions.

There will be a private service. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
