Bobby Gene Milligan, 81, of East Peoria, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017.
He was born Feb. 4, 1936 in Harrisburg, IL to Bill and Oma Ewell Milligan. He married Judith Wenzel in Washington, IL on Sept. 20, 1958. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Katrina "Tina" (Bill) Henry of Manito, Tamera "Tami" (Walt) Smith of East Peoria; three granddaughters, Nicole (Ryan) Couchman of East Peoria, Kristin Henry of Aurora, Alexandria Smith of Bloomington; and one great-grandson, Lucas Ryan Joseph Couchman. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Billy Joe.
Bobby was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Kitzingen, Germany. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a Millwright, retiring in 1992. He also worked at Sears and Roebuck as an automotive technician for 25 years, Uftring Ford for over 10 years and Morton Auto Auction for several years.
He was a member of the East Peoria Jaycees, East Peoria Abbas Grotto, Hilton Masonic Lodge in East Peoria, Mohammed Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Peoria, East Peoria V.F.W. and American Legion, and his passion; River City Street Rods.
Bobby was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, and enjoyed traveling all around the U.S. and Canada with his wife in his 1937 Plymouth Coupe.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the East Peoria Abbas Grotto Children's Fund or to Wounded Warriors.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Feb. 4, 2018 at the East Peoria Abbas Grotto. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
