Ann Yakle

June 9, 1947 ~ December 19, 2016 (age 69)
Patricia "Ann" Yakle, 69, of Washington, died at 10:55 am Monday, December 19, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Born on June 9, 1947 in Center Ridge, AR to Herman and Vernice Gardenhire Rhoads, she married Maurice W. Yakle on October 2, 1965 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria; he survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Greg (Ann) Yakle of Williamsville, Tammi (Dan) Hagan of Washington, Stacy Hall of East Peoria, Brad Yakle and Mark Yakle, both of Washington; 16 grandchildren, Eric, Z., Gage; Justin, Kelsey, Claire, Joshua; Brenna, Griffin, Jaden, Quaid, Paxton, Jovie; Jaron, Peyton, Ellie; and siblings, Roger Rhoads and Brenda Coble. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Rhoads who passed away on November 2, 2016. Ann was a licensed practical nurse since 1985. She began working at Washington Christian Village in 1981. She received the Thrive award from Christian Village nursing homes for her years of leadership and service. Ann's hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading, and gardening. She was known for her delicious southern cooking, especially her egg noodles. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and football and was a Notre Dame and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Father Julius Turyatoranwa will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be made to Washington Christian Village Amazing Grace Fund.
