Mary Lucille Fink, 93, of DeKalb, Illinois passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. surrounded by family at her niece’s home in Germantown Hills, IL.
She was born August 1, 1925 in Winchester, IL to Clarence E. and Ina M. (Markillie) Hendershot. She married Stuart D. Fink on August 10, 1963 in DeKalb.
Surviving is her son, Stuart J. Fink of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Nancy (Chester) Agans Barnd; nieces and nephews, Gene (Bridget) Agans, Bridget (Bob) Harvey, Kathy (David) Perryman, and Tina Agans; great nieces and nephews, Drew (Christine) Perryman, Melissa (Brock) Durham, Cole Agans, Carol Anne (Mark Hoelzer) Harvey, Quinn (Allison Donahue) Harvey, Sam Harvey, Beth Agans, Nicholas Agans, and CJ Lowry; and great-great nieces and nephews, Caiden Perryman, Austin and Addie Durham, Jude Hoelzer, and Ryker Lowry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one nephew, John Agans, and one great-great nephew Aiden Durham.
Lucille began teaching in the music department at Northern Illinois University in 1956 and worked there for 25 years. She was very active in the Newman Catholic Student Center. She enjoyed the opera, the Broadway in Chicago series, traveling, and playing piano.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Newman Catholic Student Center at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL with a reception to follow. Inurnment will be at the New London Oak Hill Cemetery in Minnesota at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stuart D. Fink Fine Arts Memorial Scholarship through the NIU Foundation .
