Lorraine G. Decker

February 11, 1927 ~ January 6, 2020 (age 92)


 Lorraine G. Decker, 92, of Chillicothe, passed away at 1:21 pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

   She was born February 11, 1927 in Evanston, IL to Paul and Clara (Dorband) Ludwig.  She married John Decker in Evanston, IL in 1946.  He preceded her in death on October 13, 1983.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and three sisters.

   Surviving are four children, Carol (Bill) McClellan of Manitowish Waters, WI, Len (Trina) Decker of Phoenix, AZ, Shari (Bill) Pritchard of Chillicothe, Patti (Mark) Knapp of Eureka; 11 grandchildren, Austen, Dylan, Jesse (Makenzie), Tiffani (Ned), Aaron (Amanda), Tim (Maranda), Dan (Laura), Katie (Jason), Rick (Stephanie), Randy (Jenny), Roger (Sharon); and 22 great-grandchildren, Kaela, Sophia, Lucas, Maddie, Miranda, Christian, Elena, Reid, Mason, Katie, Brandon, Tyler, JoJo, Jordan, Logan, Tyler, Natalie, Morgan, Easton, Grayson, Hayley and Henry. Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Al Fletcher and many nieces and nephews.

   Lorraine worked as a school bus driver in Dundee, IL for many years.  After retiring, Lorraine and John moved to Manitowish Waters, WI and purchased the “Pea Patch” restaurant/tavern.

   Lorraine was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka, and a charter member of the Lioness Club in Manitowish Waters, WI.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and knitting.  She was an avid reader and was on first name basis with the librarian.  Lorraine loved the outdoors, especially sitting on Shari’s porch and watching the Alpacas.  She will be dearly missed.

   Cremation rites have been accorded.  Private services will be held.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. 

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 698 Reagan Drive, Eureka, IL 61530.
