EAST PEORIA – John H. Guilfoyle, 76, of East Peoria, IL, died at 6:02 am Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born on February 1, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Howard A. and Lucille Klingler Guilfoyle, he married Patricia A. Rogers on May 14, 1966 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are 3 daughters, Laura Lynn Guilfoyle of Peoria, IL, Kimberly Susan (Richard) Stroud of Bradenton, FL, and Jennifer Anne (Lee) Castine of Chandler, AZ, his foreign exchange daughter, Flavia Torres (Elvio) Garcia of Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2 granddaughters, Mallory Blu Stroud and Macey Olivia Stroud, both of Bradenton, FL, 3 sisters, Joan (Robert) Henry of Creve Coeur, IL, Karen Wheeler of East Peoria, IL, and Carol (Earl) Lee of Washington, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Rich Wheeler, and niece, Jeannie Church.
He worked as a lithographer at Fleming and Potter, Inc. for 39 years, retiring in 2002. He and Pat then enjoyed being winter residents of Bradenton, FL for 15 seasons.
John was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria and an active member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Grzybowski Council #7580 in East Peoria.
A memorial mass for John will be at 11 am Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Monica Catholic Church. Father John Steffen will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am – 11 am Saturday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
